With the rise of rainbow hued hair, celebrities and models have turned to wigs to experiment with their locks. Purple hair doesn’t come naturally after all, so rather than ruin their hair with bleaching and chemicals, stars are opting for wigs as an alternative hairstyle. Whether its a more natural look or a number of colors, wigs are the best way to rock a style that’s to die (or should we say to dye) for. However, before wigs topped the looks of performers and models, ancient Egyptians used wigs as a way to protect bald men’s head from the sun. Later, wigs would be adopted by British and French nobility as a way of hiding conditions of hair loss and maintaining their desired appearance. Throughout time, designers have sent wigs down the runway, altering the models’ appearances for dramatic effect. Into the 21st century, wigs have become an increasingly popular way to give fashion girls an extra boost to their already stylish wardrobes.
