A three-year break from fashion seems to have been quite productive for Phoebe Philo. Following her wildly successful decade-long reboot of Céline and five year tenure at Chloé, the creative director left under the guise of perhaps joining another luxury house post-siesta. Whispers arose of Philo’s plan for her own design ventures back in February 2020, only to be recently confirmed during the Phoebe Philo Studio’s official incorporation on July 9.

LVMH already owns a minority stake in Phoebe Philo’s label, yet another addition to the ever-growing luxury giant‘s portfolio. After her victorious outcome in collaboration with LVMH at Céline, little surprise comes with the conglomerate’s confidence in Philo’s future and subsequent early investment. No doubt that her signature minimalist edge could prove to shake up the over-the-top trends of late.

Further details about Phoebe Philo Studios are set to be released in January 2022. So far, speculations of a sustainability approach have been floating around. Philo has confirmed that the label will be comprised of both clothing and accessories of the utmost quality and artisanship, which is no shock.
