For 30 years, Ralph Lauren has supported the LGBTQ+ community through volunteer activism, corporate initiatives, and financial grants. As 2020 has proven to be a transcendent year in the fight for equality, the American fashion brand continues to stand in support of diversity and inclusion. This Pride month, as part of its long-standing contributions, Ralph Lauren launched a charitable 10-piece gender-neutral collection, and now a new campaign to go with it.
The brand tapped prominent figures of the LGBTQ+ community to model the Polo Pride capsule and showcase their stories of freedom, equality, inclusion, and self-love. The diverse group of individuals includes Indya Moore, Dan Levy, Jeremy Pope, and many more. Each of their messages on identity, racism, liberty, and individuality will be shared worldwide through the campaign. Ralph Lauren is also amplifying queer voices by hosting conversations with community changemakers via Instagram Live, Youtube, and Twitch events.
The capsule collection includes a range of clothing and accessories for adults and children, from the classic polo shirt to baseball caps and fanny packs, that feature the signature Polo Pony reimagined in vibrant, rainbow colors.
In partnership with the Stonewall Community Foundation, an LGBTQ+ organization that prioritizes communities of color, transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary people, Ralph Lauren has pledged to donate a portion of its Polo Pride proceeds to the non-profit. The complete sales price of each Pride polo shirt purchased will be donated, along with 25 percent of sales proceeds from the rest of the collection.
The symbolic rainbow colors featured throughout the collection reflect the values of equality and inclusion that Ralph Lauren has long stood behind. “Pride is another way for us to prove that love transcends all borders,” Ralph Lauren Chief Innovation Officer David Lauren said. “And that by standing together with the LGBTQIA+ community, the Black community, and their allies, we can send a message of solidarity to the world.”
The Polo Pride capsule collection is now available online.
