Marc Jacobs Releases Six Looks on Animal Crossing

While there’s not much to do outside the home these days, many have plugged into video games as a way to relax and stay entertained during quarantine. Nintendo’s highly anticipated Animal Crossing New Horizons was released on March 20, and quickly became one of the most talked about aspects of our time at home. The social simulation game gives users creative freedom, allowing them to customize various aspects of their avatars’ lives. From making music videos to staging protests, organizing art installations, and recreating high fashion, the world of Animal Crossing has mirrored much of our own.

With the liberty to design your own clothes within the game, users have been experimenting with reproducing runway pieces to wear in the virtual world. Now, designers have noticed and are beginning to join the fun themselves. Marc Jacobs took to Instagram to announce that six of the brand’s favorite looks are now available to download on the platform. The pieces were created in collaboration with @animalcrossingfashionarchive, who documents the high fashion pieces created in the game.

Valentino has also partnered with the account, creating 20 looks for download pulled into the virtual world from the house’s Spring/Summer 2020 and Fall/Winter 2020 collections.
