Marine Serre’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection was marked by her signature crescent moon print, as well as a number of textures and materials presented through the artful patchwork of upcycled materials. Now, the French designer is revealing her sustainable process with a video project dedicated to these “regenerated” designs, as Serre calls them.

Regenerated SS20 shows behind-the-scenes footage of how a garment transforms from recycled product to the finished piece, from reusing discarded denim to upcycling old bedsheets. Other materials saved from the landfill include overproduced towels, old silk scarves, deadstock leather, and crochet table cloths.

This marks Serre’s second Regenerated series to launch, the first being from the Fall/Winter 2019 collection, which featured scarf dresses and “intervened” t-shirts. Sustainability is at the core of Serre’s brand, and she continues to elevate the conversation around reuse and recycling through her luxury garments.
