It’s around that time when the cold weather starts to fade away and winter wardrobes are traded for lighter and breezier pieces. Launching today, Thom Browne has the perfect new collection for this transition that consists of a selection of men’s and womenswear centered around seersucker stripes. In addition to this airy fashion drop, the designer is also releasing a mini-documentary and series of campaign videos that show a behind-the-scenes look at his Spring/Summer 2020 show, where the summer staple fabric was also spotlighted.

The documentary, titled In the World of Thom Browne: Making of the Spring/Summer 2020 Collection, dives straight into Browne’s process of piecing together a successful, and rather playful, runway show. The designer goes on to discuss how he utilized seersucker from the start of his career, and how he continues to use the textile to transform straightforward tailoring to make it true to his brand. Although this launch comes at a time of uncertainty, Browne’s whimsical approach to the use of the signature fabric, as seen throughout his documentary, brings a glimmer of optimism and joyfulness to the audience.

As for the collection, Browne has released spring wardrobe staples, from color blocked seersucker to more classic colorways. On the women’s side are both pleated and jacquard skirts, as well as layered silk seersucker dresses. For the men, classic jackets and shorts straight from the runway dominate the collection in patchwork patterns and a range colors.

Thom Browne’s Spring/Summer 2020 seersucker collection is now available online.
