Italian fashion house Fendi announced the house will pay tribute to fashion icon Karl Lagerfield at an upcoming show in Rome. The staged catwalk show will honor the 54 years that Lagerfeld dedicated to his role as creative director of Fendi before his death just two days before its Fall/Winter 2019 show on February 19, 2019.

The emotional final show displayed Lagerfeld’s final works for Fendi in a moment of mourning for the entire fashion world. The notes for the show put it perfectly as “fashion’s longest love story, one that will continue to touch our lives for years to come.”

“It was probably the longest collaboration there has ever been between a designer and a house, so he leaves an incredible heritage at Fendi,” said Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH. Arnault hinted that the catwalk show would “reprise all his creations during his time at Fendi.”

Focused on the inexhaustible inspiration he provided the fashion world, the show is set to take place this summer on July 4, 2019.
