Since its launch in 2014, Re/Done has had a 21st century-cool version of the Midas touch, collaborating with everyone from Levi’s to Solid and Striped to reinvent basics. Now, they’re working with American footwear brand G.H. Bass & Co and created a campaign starring Paris Jackson to bring their iconic Weejuns penny loafers to a new crowd.
Juergen Teller lensed the shoot, which features Jackson wearing the loafers, in neutral shades with upgrades like animal print, metallics, and studs, in an outdoor setting. The star hangs out on the rocks and reaches her shoes for the stars, all in expert layered looks: think Hawaiian shirts over bikini tops and jeans, or a long denim skirt with a slit that shows off lavender socks. It’s a slightly undone, Instagram-worthy vibe that Gen-Z is sure to emulate.
Jackson has big (literal and figurative) shoes to fill as the face of Re/Done x Weejuns, as her father Michael wore the Norwegian-inspired loafers in his iconic video for Thriller. Additionally, Audrey Hepburn rocked Weejuns in Funny Face, showing that the style has consistently transcended gender and generation to gain universal recognition. The newest iteration shows the shoes will continue to endure for the next generation.
Re/Done x Weejuns is available at Barneys New York, net-a-porter.com, and shopredone.com.
