Dior Opens the Largest Fashion Exhibition Ever to be Held in Paris

START

In honor of Dior’s 70th Anniversary, the house is opening the largest fashion exhibition ever to be held in Paris. We have a first look at “Couturier Du Rêve” here, but the official opening at Musée des Arts Décoratifs will be tomorrow July 5th through the next six months. The exhibit highlights each of Dior’s creative periods with pieces from each storied creative director including Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and most recently, Maria Grazia Chiuri.

Coming from Dior Heritage and contributions from major museums, there will be more than 300 couture gowns shown, spanning from 1947 to 2017, that fall under 23 different themes. Also on display are a wide range of Atelier Toiles, fashion photography, artworks on loan from major museums, original documents, and illustrations by Rene Gruau and Mats Gustafson.

Another Dior retrospective was held at the same museum in 1987 during the house’s 40th anniversary.
