Hailey Bieber, Barbie Ferreira, J Balvin and More Star on CR‘s Latest Spring Issue

For CR Fashion Book Issue 18, co-Pilot and EIC Carine teams up with legendary DJ, producer, and musician Honey Dijon as CR‘s first-ever guest editor and pilot of our latest issue. Taking an unprecedented year of travel restrictions and turning it into full-fledged fantasies, we welcome all aboard “AIR CR” where screaming babies and pesky bags of peanuts don’t exist–only the glitz and glamour of wanderlust adventure that has been put on hold for the time being.

On five covers, the topic of authenticity and being one’s true self unravels: a Valentino-adorned Hailey Bieber provides an old Hollywood jet-setting editorial escape; model Rebecca Leigh Longendyke takes on the role of the sun-bleached beach babe off the flight; Barbie Ferreira touches on the realistic qualities of herself that reflected into her character on Euphoria and real thoughts on body politics, Lous and the Yakuza’s pressures of being a spotlight-induced imperfect role model and happiness found in being a Black woman; and a rare look into J Balvin’s battle with depression and where he finds real purpose behind the surface-level allure of fame.

“It was such an honor to collaborate with Carine and her amazing team on this special issue” says Honey Dijon. “I am a huge fan of her work, talent, and vision that has inspired my own sense of style. Being the first Black trans woman to edit a global fashion magazine will hopefully open doors for many women of color to use their voices in creative roles in fashion.”

From Berlin’s Tegel Airport to the Museum of Air and Space in Madrid, this issue found opportunity in using once hectic spaces in creating fantasy editorials from temporarily dormant spaces. A reflection of the realities we live in today, CR’s latest spring issue looks toward the future of travel where terminals and tarmacs can transform into a runway.
