Carine Roitfeld has been appointed as curator for the third annual 2017 Veuve Clicquot Widow Series in which she will produce an immersive experience that both champions the arts and mimics the values of the Veuve House. As a creative project, the event prides itself on fostering relationships with visionaries throughout the industry. Previously, the role was held by fashion photographer Nick Knight who curated the first series, and then singer FKA Twigs who took the reigns last year.

The Veuve Clicquot Widow Series pays homage to the house’s founder, Madame Clicquot, who was famously widowed in October of 1805. Left with her late husband’s assets, Clicquot took over the champagne business and ultimately paved the way for herself and for future female pioneers, our editor-in-chief included. For Carine, it’s what gives the project a special meaning. “I’m a story-teller; that’s my job as an editor and a stylist,” Carine says. “This opportunity is completely different, and now I have the opportunity to tell a story with the viewer actually experiencing the story as we tell it. It’s not a party, it’s a truly immersive experience. It’s a different way of thinking.”

CR‘s take on The Widow Series premiers with a VIP party and a private viewing on October 19th, 2017. Shortly after, the public will be able to purchase tickets to experience the event for themselves. There’s more details to come, and we’ll keep you posted.
