Elle Fanning is the New Face of L’Oreal Paris

Elle Fanning is no stranger to fashion campaigns. She got her start aged 13 in ads for Tiffany & Co., Miu Miu, Rodarte, and Marc Jacobs. This morning, WWD exclusively confirmed that six years later, she’s finally making her first foray into the world of beauty. The actress is the now an official ambassador for L’Oreal Paris.

Fanning will complete her first duties as an ambassador at Cannes Film Festival later this month, where two of her films—The Beguiled and How to Talk to Girls at Parties—are slated to be screened. Yesterday, Elle revealed on Instagram that she had just finished filming an ad for a new product called ‘Paradise Mascara’ in Paris, captioning her photo “stay tuned for a big surprise….”

At just 19-years-old, Elle is one of L’Oreal’s younger actress ambassadors. She joins fellow Hollywood starlets Blake Lively, Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts, and Susan Sarandon in her new role. The cosmetic giant’s global president, Pierre Emmanuel Angeloglou, explained why L’Oreal knew Fanning was a natural fit for the brand in a statement: “She is the face for the new generation as an accomplished actress, but also an inspiring canvas for makeup artists.”

Scoring a major beauty contract like this is a pretty big deal for a young actress like Elle, even though she’s already incredibly famous. In the next 12 months, we expect to see a lot more of her on television and on billboards as her already bright star continues to rise.
