Zara Beauty Is Here, And Here’s Our First Impression

Zara has established itself as one of the go-to places for fashion, whether you’re looking for trendy pieces or evergreen staple items. It’s always full of the most stylish options that end up being our go-tos when we reach into our closets. So when the brand announced last week that it would be delving into the beauty world, it’s safe to say that everyone was thrilled.
When Zara tapped iconic makeup artist Diane Kendal, who’s created runway makeup looks for brands like Balenciaga and Proenza Schouler, to lead the creative direction of this new line, she saw it as an opportunity to make something accessible to everyone. With luxurious, high-quality products at reasonable price points in a wide range of shades, Kendal and Zara have definitely achieved that. Not only is the range inclusive in many ways (Kendal believes that “there is no beauty, only beauties”), but it’s also eco-conscious. The products are clean, refillable, and consciously-crafted.
With a mega line full of every makeup product you need, from lipstick to eyeshadow, Zara isn’t messing around when it comes to its first beauty line. In true trendy Zara fashion, the products come in sleek white packaging, and there’s something for everyone. The line is aptly named Zara Beauty and spans across several categories, including face, eye, lip, nail, and tool products. With so many products to choose from, we’ll break down some of our favorites.
Lips
Ultimatte Matte Lipstick: Available in 14 shades, this refillable lipstick stays on all day and easily competes with other luxury lipsticks. It glides on smoothly, and there’s great color payoff even with just one swipe. Plus, the wide range of color choices makes it easy to find one that matches your skin tone.
Tinted Balm Lipstick: This lipstick is both hydrating and full of color, resulting in a formula that delivers product while also keeping lips comfortable and cushioned. It’s a more subtle option if you don’t want to go for a full lip. With small pearlescent pigments throughout the lipstick, it gives a bit of added shine as well.
Eyes
Pressed Pigment Palette: The palette comes in four options, with six colors in each palette. Each one has great color payoff and can be easily used from day to night looks. The color blends easily to create a silky and smooth pop of eye color.
Face
Cheek Color in 3 Palette: There are three options of cheek palettes, each of which come with blush and highlighters to create a warm, glowy look. They range from a more natural contour to a deeper glow, depending on the application.
Bronzer: Coming in four different shades, the bronzer gives an instantaneous glow and defines the cheekbone, forehead, nose, and wherever else you put your bronzer. It’s a velvety powder that gives great payoff and blends easily.
Long story short, our first impression is: wow. It doesn’t come as any surprise that Zara is not just going to keep filling our closets but also our makeup bags now, and we can’t wait to see how the collection continues to evolve.
