Vivian Wang er en lydkunstner, komponist og musiker fra Singapore. Vivian Wang is a Singaporean sound artist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. She diverged from her classical training when she started art rock ensemble The Observatory, a prolific group with more than 10 releases and the name behind experimental music festival Playfreely. Vivianu2019s current work explores intermediate spaces across a range of sonic intersections in art, culture and space. She delves deep into acoustic projects that explore sound making in alternative transdisciplinary fields. Her main instruments are synth, voice, electronics, field recording and prepared objects. 

Vivian has toured and worked extensively. She was part of a project series called Struck Modernism, that audifies recordings of sculptures set into vibration with a hammer. In these works, modernist sculptures went beyond being perceived as objects alone, but were temporalised and transformed into sounding bodies. Other recent performances include the Venice Biennale 2019 and Utrechtu2019s biggest annual festival Le Guess Who. Her collaborators include sound artists Tarek Atoui and Lasse Marhaug, as well as pop artist Jenny Hval, contributing to both the album and the touring of The Practice of Love.
