Everything You Need to Know About the Cast of the Gossip Girl Reboot

In a clutch of Instagram images circulating over the weekend, the internet is buzzing once again over the latest updates from the Gossip Girl reboot. Coming in the shape of angled head-shots, cast unveilings, and tight-lipped character descriptions, ardent fans of the series are now equipped with nine new main characters and their one word descriptors.

Tavi Gevinson, Rookie Mag founder, assumes the role of Kate Keller, onscreen known for her “Ambition.” Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) is introduced as Zoya Lott (“Perspective”), Evan Mock as Akeno ‘Aki’ Menzies (“Innocence”), Eli Brown (The Perfectionists) is Otto ‘Obie’ Bergmann IV (“Privilege”), Emily Lind (Doctor Sleep, Revenge) takes on Audrey Hope (“Grace”), Thomas Doherty (Descendants) as Max Wolfe (“Freedom”), Zión Moreno as Luna La (“Style”), Savannah Smith as Monet de Haan (“Power”), and Jordan Alexander becomes Julien Calloway (“Influence”).

Although none of the original cast has yet to be reintroduced as their enduringly relevant roles, Kristen Bell will return to rhapsodize the interwoven lives of our nine main characters. As reported Gossip Girl’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have confirmed: “Kristen Bell has always been and will always be the voice of Gossip Girl.” And in a bid to keep fashion at the fore, Costume Designer Eric Daman will return to oversee the styles sent across our screens. Under Daman’s gilded direction television had never been so apt to send the fashion set into paroxysms of lust than it was with Gossip Girl’s onset in the early aughts.

Now, set for a spring 2021 revival on HBO Max, the reboot seems to be giving greater shape of what’s to come; something cool, something contemporary, something reminiscent of the past and, yet entirely, utterly new.
