Claudia Schiffer is stepping into the world of art for her next career endeavor. The supermodel has announced that she will be curating an exhibition of ‘90s fashion photography, a show that will debut in March of next year in Dusseldorf, Germany, the city where Schiffer herself was discovered in 1987.
The supermodel has dipped her toes into a number of different careers, from acting to exercise videos to restaurant owning, but this exhibition is the first time that Schiffer has ever worked directly with a gallery to curate an exhibit. The show will intertwine a variety of fashion-based photography, from famous, high-profile photographic works to contact sheets, polaroids, and other behind-the-scenes details. In its entirety, the exhibit will showcase a visual story of the storied and iconic world of fashion in the ‘90s, a time that Schiffer noted as “intense and wonderful” in a press release.
According to an Instagram post from Schiffer, the supermodel will be sharing “her own personal journey, as well as the incredible world of some of the industry’s greatest artists.” The aforementioned featured artists will include the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Arthur Elgort, Ellen von Unwerth, Corrine Day, Herb Ritts, and more memorable names of ‘90s high fashion.
The exhibition will run from March to June of next year at the Kunstpalast in Dusseldorf.
