Black-Owned Fashion Labels to Support Right Now

This past weekend protests erupted across America demanding justice for the most recent lives lost to police brutality. Many in the fashion community took to social media to mourn the loss of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor, and proclaim loudly that #BlackLivesMatter. But the work cannot end there. While posting on social media is an important first step in raising awareness, financial support is imperative to the success and survival of Black-owned businesses.

In the midst of a global pandemic and a nationwide discourse on black oppression, it seems there is no better time to acknowledge the groundbreaking designers that have helped build a more diverse fashion industry. With an uncertain economic future ahead, for some, buying things from these beloved brands now is the only way to ensure their existence in the times to come. In solidarity with the Black community, CR recognizes Black-owned fashion labels that have changed the industry for the better.
