Renowned LA Launches Heroes of Blackness Benefit Tee

Streetwear label Renowned LA has designed a statement tee as an agent of change in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. The Heroes of Blackness benefit T-shirt is emblazoned with the phrase, “We Not Asking No More,” demanding the right to equality, justice, and to live without fear. The protest tee is ornamented with printed buttons of prominent power symbols within the Black community. While one emblem reads, “Organize- Unify- Rebuild,” others read “Fist Up,” and “Black Power.” Badges with notorious figures of the revolutionary Black Panthers are included as well.

Renowned LA will be contributing 100 percent of the shirt’s proceeds to the Black Lives Matter Movement, Reclaim The Block, and The George Floyd Foundation. CEO of the brand, John Dean, stated, “For us at Renowned LA, we have always represented the people. We represent those who stand for change and no longer are willing to accept what has been presented to us. I’m proud to be Black, I love our culture, I love standing with my people against injustice even though I shouldn’t have to.”

An accompanying tag on the T-shirt lists those who have died at the hands of police brutality and the best places to donate to strengthen the cause. Another tag prints four vital instructions on how to best support the movement through your daily behaviors: “1. Organize within your communities to address issues affecting Black lives. 2. Show up to protest, donate, show solidarity, and email your local representatives. 3. Learn and listen from Black people, we are telling you what has been happening for years and what we think can be done to fix issues. 4. Most importantly, take action and don’t give up. This is a lifelong battle for equality.”
