The Top 10 Runway Moments of 2018

Another year has come and gone. Between designer comings-and-goings (a trend that occurred with such frequency it would give even the most seasoned fashion journalist whiplash), unexpected collaborations, far-flung destination shows (and not-so-far flung destination shows), head-scratching fads, and serious ‘90s nostalgia, the fashion industry—that fickle mistress—has awarded us with some pretty monumental moments this year. From Anok Yai opening Prada’s Fall/Winter 2018 show (the Sudanese model and CR girl was the first black model to open for the luxury Italian house in 20 years) to Kim Jones taking his final bow at Louis Vuitton sandwiched between two of the most iconic supers in history, the runways this year reminded us that fashion, at its best, can be a beautiful, transformative, and occasionally puzzling form of escapism—but more importantly, a measure of our cultural zeitgeist. In honor of the impending new year, CR nailed down the top 10 most significant catwalk moments from 2018.
