Take a walk down memory lane with one of the greatest rock bands of all time in the newly released namesake book, Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin. In the chronology, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones compiled the most iconic and personal images of their band from 1968 to the present, in celebration of the 50th year since its formation. Recognized for introducing classic hard rock and heavy metal sounds, Led Zeppelin’s book reflects its louder-than-life music through raw, atmospheric images of the band in action.

From shots of sold-out arenas to adventures in English countryside, Led Zeppelin provides a healthy dose of nostalgia, and reminds us how true rockstars once lived. It shows the band members at the height of their fame, outfitted in psychedelic shirts and bellbottoms, shaking their shaggy hair on stage. It also shares moments from backstage, in which the bandmates were swigging straight from a bottle of Jack Daniels and puffing on cigarettes. The book invites fans to relive Zeppelin’s best moments as a spectator and from the band’s perspective.

The musicians allow the images to speak for themselves for the most part, but also include annotations to a selection of images reflecting on what makes a good show, making music after losing drummer John Bonham, and the acoustic challenges faced on tour. Page, Plant, and Jones’ commentary and curation of images captures Led Zeppelin’s vigorous energy that fueled their music for the past half-century.
