Gucci just launched its new beauty Instagram account, @guccibeauty, which aims to present creative director Alessandro Michele’s vision of beauty. The account debuted by posting a series of famous artworks spanning across cultures, ethnicities, and time, from a slew of famous private and public collections (the Uffizi Gallery in Rome and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, for instance.)

The artworks, such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s Aurelia, are meant to represent the art that has inspired Michele in creating the beauty look of the Gucci girl, and feature written introductions by art writers on the stories behind the works.

This is the latest of Gucci’s many art inspired initiatives since Michele took over as creative director for for the brand in 2015, from the brand’s on-going collaborations with Martin Scorsese’s film fund to the launch of its Gucci Documentary Fund at the Tribeca Film Institute.
