Since helming the brand solo after the exit of Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior, Pierpaolo Piccioli has consistently unearthed beautifully crafted and effortlessly romantic frocks for women. For Spring/Summer 2019, models wore sequined and tulle gowns with voluminous straw hats adorned with feathers, juxtaposed by the most minimalist billowing silk and swinging ’60s dresses in subdued hues of black and white. And of course, there was Valentino red and airy dresses befitting any red carpet occasion, alongside elegant workwear clothes that could potentially fill the void left by Phoebe Philo.
