Nelson Mandela’s legacy is untouchable. The anti-apartheid activist and former first democratically elected president of South Africa championed equality and fairness above all else. After spending nearly 27 years in jail for his work against apartheid, Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his bravery and accomplishments. He served as South Africa’s president for only one term, but continued to support the fight for equality his entire life.
