Canadian actress Margot Kidder began acting in the late 1960s, but her rise to fame skyrocketed when she appeared as Lois Lane in Superman: The Movie in 1978, opposite Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent. She and Reeve developed a close friendship until his death in 2004, with Kidder going on to reprise the part in the movie’s three sequels. After achieving mainstream recognition, Kidder also starred in horror classics such as Black Christmas and as Kathy Lutz in The Amityville Horror. On the day of her passing, CR takes a look back at iconic photos of Kidder in her most recognizable role.
