The new issue of CR Men’s, which joins the 12th edition of CR Fashion Book, explores the world of athletics from different perspectives—the physical, yes, but also the intellectual, emotional, and the other, lesser-seen-sides of sports. Carine herself is an active trainer and enjoys a tough workout for the clarity that it brings her (“Just doing it gives me a sense of accomplishment and clears my head for the day,” she admits), and the pages of the new issue reflect this in personal stories, photo essays, and impressive tales of accomplishment.
Champion Para-athletes Liam Malone, who won multiple gold medals for New Zealand at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, and Rheed McCracken, who took home silver and bronze medal in T34 athletics events at the 2012 London event—among other competitions—star on the cover of the issue in a new stunning series by Steven Klein.
“I can’t think of any athletes more deserving of the cover than these two men. They are champions physically and mentally and their stories are incredibly inspiring.”
Carine discovered the two after completing CR Girl’s 2018 calendar, which was created in collaboration with the Special Olympics, and was taken by the athletes’ courage and strength. “I knew featuring para-athletes would be a very positive and uplifting message,” she says. “I can’t think of any athletes more deserving of the cover than these two men. They are champions physically and mentally and their stories are incredibly inspiring.”
CR Men’s Book is available alongside CR Fashion Book issue 12, and will be on newsstands starting March 1, 2018. To pre-order an advance copy click here, and sign up for our newsletter for exclusive stories from the new issue.
