Classic sneaker styles have been having a renaissance over the past few years. In 2013, Adidas announced the return of the Stan Smith, its signature shoe which rose to fame on the feet of American tennis players in the 1960s and ‘70s. The refreshed style proved to be a hit again, so the German sportswear giant reintroduced another of its originals—the 1980 Gazelle. Now Nike is getting in on the reissuing action.

Tied to the shoe’s 45th anniversary, the American brand has breathed life back into its iconic Cortez sneaker. Starting June 1st, fans and collectors will be able to purchase the original ‘70s style in what Nike’s calling its “OG form,” a winning combination of red, white, and blue. Over the summer, more color ways and unusual fabrications will be rolled out.

Official spokesmodel, Bella Hadid, appears in the Cortez’s new campaign imagery. Posing in dappled sunlight and balancing atop a skateboard, the images are reminiscent of when Farrah Fawcett appeared in a similar editorial wearing the first iteration of Nike Cortez in the 1977 edition of Wild World of Skateboarding.
