Fear of God’s New Basketball-Inspired Capsule Collection

START

Jerry Lorenzo’s cult label Fear Of God is launching the first in a series of surprise pop-up shops this Saturday, April 22nd. The streetwear brand is promoting its fifth mainline collection with the addition of a capsule range of basketball-inspired pieces. The pop-up initiative kicks off at specialist sneaker store, Back Door Bottega in Bologna, Italy. The destination shoe outpost is famed for its all encompassing range of rare sneakers and its owners, Marco Evangelisti and Jacopo Pozzati, who are known for being the most prolific collectors of Nike Jordans in Europe.

In reference to the 1987 NBA Final, (when the Boston Celtics lost to the Los Angeles Lakers), Fear Of God’s new capsule is titled 1987. In lieu of a team logo, Lorenzo has designed a limited edition chenille patch that’s present on all pieces. The full 1987 capsule lineup includes basketball shorts, socks, hoodies, tracksuits, pullover jackets, and jerseys. Ahead of a worldwide debut later this year, a small run of Fear of God’s new black and white basketball sneaker will also be available to shop at the pop-up this weekend.
