“It’s a collage of different bits of information: canework, a star motif, English carpentry, knitted murals,” said Jonathan Anderson of his new collection of Loewe homeware at the 2017 Salone del Mobile. “I like the idea that fashion can explode into the household, bringing different artisans together to design new physical forms and apply craft in a home. This is how the Loewe character lives.”

Today in Milan, the creative director returned to the annual furniture fair for the third time, debuting his latest range of ceramics, furniture, lamps, blankets, and cushions in a new collection titled Loewe: This is Home.

Designed to intentionally blur the line between decorative and practical, the collection sets abstract wall hangings with dual functionalities against more solid items like a series of oak objects crafted by a fifth-generation furniture-maker operating out of Yorkshire in the north of England. Each wooden object has a mouse carved into it—a signature of the company, which goes by the name of Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson. Elsewhere in the collection, wicker-paneled benches and chairs speak to the American Minimalist movement of the early 1960s and a series of leather and ceramic pieces handcrafted in Spain serve as a reminder of Loewe’s Castilian heritage.

All items from the 2017 Salone del Mobile presentation are for sale, although some are by special order only. To celebrate the launch of the collection, Loewe will roll out a new collection of tote bags and pouches featuring Salone’s trademark star logo.

Loewe: This is Home is now on show at Casa Loewe in Milan. The collection will then travel to London’s Liberty department store in May, followed by showings in Paris and Madrid.
