How To Be Cast For A Marc Jacobs Ad


Keep reading if you want to become the next face of a Marc Jacobs Beauty campaign.

That’s everyone, right? The designer’s annual hashtag contest titled #castmemarc is back, this time with a focus on beauty. All you have to do, the fashion house says, is film a video on Instagram telling Marc “what inspires you in beauty and fashion, and why he should pick you.” You’ll have to remember to tag @marcbeauty and #castmemarc in order to be considered. “This isn’t about airbrushed perfection—Marc has always been known to find beauty in authenticity and imperfection,” we read in the house’s statement.

Next January, ten finalists will be flown to New York to record a makeup application video for Marc Jacobs himself, along with and his judging panel, who will help him select three winners to participate in a new #beautymarc video series. “Marc Jacobs beauty encourages pushing boundaries and creating your own style, and we’re thrilled to see how our incredible fans share their artistry and inspiration on a global platform,” says Catherine Gore, vice president and global general manager for Kendo Beauty Group.

In addition to the film role of a lifetime (word has it you might have a famous co-star), this year’s winners will each receive a large supply of the brand’s beauty product line and invitations to all of the fashion house’s upcoming beauty influencer events. But the best part, if you ask us, is that the three lucky artists are entitled to a Marc Jacobs wardrobe and accessories allowance. (It’s too bad that it’d be a conflict for the journalist covering this story to apply.)

Video applications will be accepted through Monday, December 5th at 11:59 P.M. Anyone in the world can apply, the only catch being that you must be over 18 years-old to enter. If you think you have what it takes, get to work—and good luck.
