Asymmetry is in.
Creative Director Eli Mizrahi utilizes the female form as a sculptural canvas for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection. The forward-thinking brand, a favorite of Dua Lipa and Lizzo, sculpts the female figure like no other. Taking inspiration from the intersecting fields of art and architecture, Mizrahi plays with and updates traditional sportswear silhouettes. The collection walks the line between function and style, offering sleek and sexy takes on power-dressing.
The collection’s quiet sensuality is aptly framed in a minimal background, allowing the angular silhouettes to take center stage. Also referencing Madonna’s 1992 Sex Book, the brand continues to explore themes of femininity, dominance, and individuality. In a statement released to CR, Mizrahi reveals “I wanted to shake things up even more with this collection. It is a revival of the Mônot woman who is ready to come back stronger than ever.”
With a celebrity cameo by Tiffany Haddish and an all-star cast, the brand’s look book and short film celebrates the dynamic world of femininity ever so stylishly. Stand out looks like two-piece asymmetric sets and cut-out detailing play with prior house codes and offer a streamlined look to the future for the house.
