NYC-based hair artist Lucas Wilson is used to working with his hands. So when he like much of the rest of the world found himself at home—in Wilson’s case, his photographer brother Zac’s house in East Tennessee—he was left in a conundrum. How could he continue his craft when close contact has become nearly impossible? In the weeks that followed the two brothers meditated on these ever-changing times, and eventually found inspiration in their challenges. Zac downsized his photo crew; Lucas arranged pre-made wigs and directed models (fellow family members and nearby friends) to self-style when necessary. Serene and almost alien, the Wilsons’ collaborative images were taken over the course of a month for CR, and signify not only an unexpected beauty but also our fantastic ability to adapt.
