This month, the longest-reigning British monarch in history Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her 95th birthday. However, this year’s celebration will be held differently following the passing of her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
The Queen, who celebrates her birthday two times (once on her birthday April 21, and another in June for the public) will be having a different, low-key ceremony this year. The Queen’s 95th birthday will be her first one celebrated without Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away on April 9 at the age of 99 and was buried at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Saturday.
The Queen will reportedly have a quiet celebration, having lunch with her family. Big June festive, including the gun salutes in Hyde Park and the family gathering on the Buckingham’s Palace balcony, will be canceled due to the coronavirus restrictions.
Additionally, Queen Elizabeth II is also not releasing a new birthday portrait this year.
