Kristen Stewart Made a Video for Planned Parenthood

Kristen Stewart and the band Chvrches haved joined forces to raise money for Planned Parenthood.

Chvrches is part of a special music project to benefit the healthcare agency called “7 Inches for Planned Parenthood.” It is a compilation box set that includes Björk, Bon Iver, Foo Fighters, John Legend, Mary J. Blige, and St. Vincent. There are also comedy tracks by Margaret Cho and Zach Galifianakis.

K-Stew directed the music video for Chvrches contribution to the project, which is a live verision of their song, “Down Side of Me.” It is the second time Stewart has directed a music video, she also worked on Sage + Saint’s “Take Me South.” She also directed film short „Come Swim.“ The video for Chuvrches is primarily close up shots of frontwoman Lauren Mayberry’s eyes and hands as she performs the song.

In a press release Mayberry explained her reasoning for choosing the song.

„The lyrics can be interpreted in a way that supports the goal of the project as a whole. We should all be able to have faith that our governments are working in our best interests — and if they aren’t, then they should be challenged and held to account.“

“7 Inches for Planned Parenthood” is now available for purchase, 100% of the proceeds are donated directly to P.P. as it fights to stay afloat despite Congress eminently withdrawing funding.
