Frances Bean Cobain Makes Her Modeling Debut

Marc Jacobs has a habit of tapping unexpected famous faces come campaign season—and its cast for Spring 2017 is no different. Earlier today on Instagram, the designer made his first reveal, confirming Frances Bean Cobain’s model debut. The daughter of the late Kurt Cobain, follows in the footsteps of mom Courtney Love, who starred alongside Susan Sarandon, Marilyn Manson, and more in MJ’s campaign for Fall 2016.

In the caption underneath the photograph, the designer shared why he chose to work with Frances: “I first met Frances Bean when she was 2 years old at a dinner with her mom (Courtney) and Anna Sui in 1994 at Bar Six in NYC,” he wrote. “I have always wanted to work with Frances. Her beauty, uniqueness, and strength is something I have long admired and respected. Few things remain as constant as my continued inspiration from those whose honesty, integrity, courage, and curiosity lead them to explore and venture beyond preconceived boundaries.”

As in campaigns before, Jacobs has enlisted David Sims to photograph his chosen Spring 2017 faces, but exactly who the other subjects are has yet to be revealed.
