Fenty Re-Releases Staple Silhouettes With a Faux Leather Upgrade

Less than two months after its inaugural spring launch, Rihanna’s luxury label Fenty has reimagined a selection of its favorite silhouettes for an entirely faux leather capsule collection. The five-piece drop includes Fenty’s drawstring hoodie, cargo pants, corset dress, corset mini skirt, and oversized button-down shirt, keeping to a classic black and creamy taupe palette.

The faux leather capsule is an extension of Fenty’s Release 2-20 launch, titled Freedom, which was centered on creative expressions of individuality. Influenced by Irving Penn’s Small Trades series, the collection honors utility-wear as a powerful symbol of identity. Workwear-inspired silhouettes, from the oversized button-down to high-waisted cargo pants, are brought to the luxury arena with the faux leather upgrade and Fenty’s eye for detail.

While leather is notoriously unforgiving on the tailoring front, its vegan counterpart is supple, light, and buttery soft—mirroring the laid-back aesthetic of Fenty’s Freedom launch. While each piece in the faux leather capsule is targeted for daywear, and molded to emphasize the material’s movability, the sharp tailoring and corset detailing reinforce Fenty’s perpetual glamour.
