Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Turns 264

START

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart on January 27th, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He was the youngest of seven children, five of whom died in infancy, leaving him with the company of his beloved older sister Maria Anna. With the rigorous musical training by his father Leopold, Mozart quickly became a musical prodigy writing his first compositions at age six and completing his first opera at age 12. Soon after, Mozart and his sister began touring playing for some of Europe’s royalty. In his later years, Mozart moved to Vienna, Austria where he completed some of his most famous instrumental works until his death in 1791 at the age of 35.
