For his Fall/Winter 2019 lineup for Max Mara, Ian Griffiths drew inspiration from one of America’s most powerful political figures: Nancy Pelosi. The viral red coat the House speaker wore to a meeting with President Trump (which also happened to be by Max Mara) was at the center of his mood board and served as a jumping-off point for his entire offering, which riffed on notions of power, glamour, and featured strong, sharp tailoring.
