The fashion industry still has a long ways to go in terms of diversity and inclusivity, which isn’t to say there hasn’t been visible progress in recent years. Fall 2018 marked the most race and transgender-inclusive season ever: nearly one third of models cast in all fashion cities was a woman of color, while a record-breaking 64 transgender and non-binary models also walked the shows. As more designers highlight a greater spectrum of sizes and ethnicities on the runway, CR charts the most diverse and inclusive moments from Spring/Summer 2019—so far.
