After a series of digital fashion weeks, Ottolinger Creative Directors Cosima Gradient and Christa Bösch show their first collection back in person at Paris Fashion Week. Known for their fresh fashion takes, the Spring/Summer 2022 collection features the deconstructed silhouettes drawing on the ultra-popular subversive basics trend.

Neon green and baby blue garments head down the runway bookended by neutrals of white and black. Ottolinger’s thematic element of cutaways and peek-a-boo moments feel reinvented utilized to show skin on the hips and thighs. Screen-printed imagery of ropes and florals adorn the ever-trendy mesh dresses. Rope like elements hang from dresses, shirts, skirts, and pants. Reworked denim find new silhouettes with single-sleeved jackets and pant legs wrapped in string to create a cinching effect on the calf.

The designs to implement a sense of childlike fun, not only with bright color and plaid patterns, but with shaping. Shoes are structured with curving plush elements and spider web inspired straps climbing the legs. Blazers of green and silver leather are paired with tiny short shorts. The final looks of the collection take the deconstruction seen throughout to a new level of abstract structure silhouettes, creating 3D elements to the garments.
