A First Look at the New Marc Jacobs Line

Ever since the dissolution of his popular line Marc by Marc Jacobs in 2015, there were rumors that the designer would revive a line in a similar spirit. Today, he debuts his new brand, The Marc Jacobs, as well as the campaign shot by Hugo Scott and styled by Lotta Volkova. Named after Jacobs’ popular Instagram account, @themarcjacobs, the label encompasses ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, jewelry, and accessories.

“We wanted to do something that is unlike the collections we are already doing, in that it is more ‘item-y.’” Jacobs said. “These items are things that you could put together in your own way; it’s more about personal styling than about having a full runway look.”

Taking inspiration from music, art, and pop culture, as well as the classic silhouettes of Jacobs. The line has a more accessible price range, while keeping in line with the designer’s aesthetic. Jacobs is also collaborating with Peanuts and New York Magazine, as well as tapping longtime collaborator milliner Stephen Jones.

The Marc Jacobs is available now in Marc Jacobs stores and online.
