Virtual and Reality Merge in Moschino X The Sims Capsule Collection

Simulated fashion and real-life clothing merge with Moschino’s newest capsule collection inspired by The Sims game. Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino, unveiled the pixel-printed collaboration at his annual Palm Springs Desert Party on April 13. The collection consists of exclusive ready-to-wear clothes and accessories that feature signature Moschino elements like motorcycle jackets and gold chains rendered in pixelated graphics, along with motifs from The Sims franchise such as the plumbob (the green diamond that floats above a player’s Sims character) and the Freezer Bunny.

The Moschino X The Sims campaign places models Stella Maxwell, Aiden Curtiss, and Denek K in a Sims-like universe, outfitted in the new collection. In one shot, the group appears to be on a virtual camping trip with each model wearing trompe l’oeil denim pieces, playing on the digital versus the material.

An integral part of playing The Sims is creating your own avatar’s identity, including through its wardrobe. This concept was a source of creativity for Scott. “I love the idea of being able to imagine, design, and bring to life a world of individual personas with The Sims universe,” Scott says of the capsule. “That concept emulates what I get to do for each collection at Moschino as I create a fantasy universe of spectacular story lines and characters.”

While the whole collection will be able to shop in the real world, one piece–a Freezer Bunny hoodie–will also be available to Sims players through the virtual worlds on The Sims 4, The Sims Mobile, and The Sims Freeplay. The Freezer Bunny is an elusive character that recurs throughout the Sims universe.

The Moschino X The Sims collection is now available to shop at Moschino boutiques worldwide and online.
