The Jazz Age signaled dramatic cultural shift post-WWI that invoked feelings of liberation, freedom, and indulgence. Women in particular were seen in a new light, due to gaining the right to vote and embracing a carefree lifestyle in which they dressed as flappers. In 1925, legendary author F. Scott Fitzgerald published one of the most celebrated literary works known as The Great Gatsby, a romantically tragic tale set right in the heart of the Jazz Age.
