What to Wear When Exploring Mallocra’s Caves

START

Jet-setting across the seven seas, or simply swapping neighborhood spots, What To Wear When is your weekly column for shopping inspiration.

Few locales inspire travel envy quite like the far-flung destination of Mallorca. The largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, Mallorca has beach resorts, sheltered covers, and picturesque limestone mountains for scenery lovers, as well as plenty of cultural and historical hotspots. Consider the Moorish Almudania royal palace, the opulent 13th-century Santa María Cathedral, and the Cuevas del Drach, a network of caves containing one of the world’s largest underground lakes.

Mallorca is also the place where Polish model Anja Rubik wed her longtime boyfriend and fellow model Sasha Knezevic back in 2011 in a high-low Emilio Pucci dress. Although the pair separated in 2015, Rubil’s love for the idyllic island never waned, so much so that she purchased a home for herself there. Rubik has said one of her favorite past times in Mallocra is to dine: “Sa Foradada in Deià is the most incredible place for lunch,” she said. “It’s a beautiful little restaurant carved into the mountain with the most incredible sea view. You can only get there by boat or by hiking–it’s very local and serves the best veggie paella.”

Whether you’re traversing the hidden caves, grabbing a quick bite to eat, or sight-seeing as a bride-to-be, shop CR‘s guide to paradise-ready travel wear below.
